VA - York River SP - Two missing - Thread

VA - York River SP - Two missing

Unfortunately, I have to report a second box missing at York
River. York River #2 (near the picnic shelter) was not there today.
It was in the central area for park activity. I'm surprised it lasted
as long as it did.

Mattaponi Trail is already posted as missing. It's hiding spot is
a pure mess of standing water and mud. Fortunately, within 100
yards...

Pupa Letterbox is still there, in good shape. It had four other
visitors today.

I didn't get to York River #1 in the western part of the park. If
the other boxers are on the list, maybe they could send an update.
Their logs mentioned 4 attempts today.

Mike you have been very helpful to me lately- thanks a
bunch! :o) I was/am making plans on doing the York
River ones this week and am very glad to get the
report. Anyone know the status of box #1? Also
wondering how the boxes in Pocohontas are fairing?

My recollection is that the original York River Box #1 was recently
replaced by Jay (Jolly G-Man) for Squirrel. You can check the clue
page for specifics on that replacement.

I was happy to hear that a recent boxer found all four of the
Pocohontas boxes about which I'd received missing reports. In fact,
I was recently in the Park to check on Princess Pocahontas/Chief
Powhatan and John Smith, and had trouble finding them myself!!!

We were at York River State Park yesterday and box #1 is alive and
kicking! It was a bit damp inside, but the logbook and stamp are
fine.
